9:30 a.m. We will meet at Coldstream Conservation Area parking lot on Quaker Line, Middlesex Centre* and join naturalist, Larry Cornelis to tour an old growth, sugar maple and beech forest with its wonderful variety of woodland spring wildflowers, including some rare species.
This will also time nicely with songbird spring migration.
11:30 Following our nature walk, we will eat lunch (you can pre-purchase a catered lunch for $20).
12:30 - 4 p.m. With instruction and guidance from Mary Abma, participants will create an original artwork using mosaic methods and materials (location to be determined). Each person’s unique story of connection will be expressed using the language of art.

On a Saturday morning in July we explored and encountered the Canatara Park shoreline paying particular attention to the sand dunes. Learning about this phenomenal ecosystem with Larry we were invited to reflect upon our existence within it. In the afternoon Mary taught us the basics of making a mosaic. Using this art form and the multitude of supplies provided, we translated our morning experience and reflections into a mosaic that we took home with us. Weeks later my life and artwork is still being influenced by the depth of their guidance. I hope to take another workshop like this in the future. Jan K.
